Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is the number one alternative to hair transplant surgery. It is currently the only non-surgical long term solution for hair loss. Small impressions (micro dots) are inserted into the papillary layer of skin in order to replicate stubble. Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) can restore hairlines or crowns with density treatments. We are internationally recognized for precise gradient scales, soft hairlines, and standard protocols for realism. Men and women can easily be treated for their hair loss in under two hours. An immediate increase in impressions to the hairline, part line, density, or scar tissue will reclaim your youthful appearance and confidence.

The hairline is the first line of defense against an aging face, therefore this is the most requested service. Men and women are quite frequently blown away at how full their hair looks after treatment because it definitely can reframe the face. A soft, hybrid, or hard hairline can be constructed to mirror the type of hairline you used to have prior to your hairloss journey.

The part line is the second most requested service for women due to the fact that most hair falls and raises at the part line, therefore traction alopecia tends to wreck havoc on the part line. It is common to have major damage in this area and density treatments are a great way to get a thicker part line near the crown.

Density can be achieved by layering several passes in a thin area of the scalp to give the illusion of thicker hair. Normally density is reserved for men and women who have a head full of hair, but they are thinning in certain areas which need to be blended. Density can be achieved in some cases without cutting the hair down, but native follicles must be evenly dispersed throughout the scalp. In the event that the hair is too thin and the scalp is showing, it is standard to cut your hair down to the skin in order to give the most natural blending.

Scars from surgical treatments such as Follicular Unit Transplants (FUT), and Follicular Unit Extractions (FUE), can be treated with multiple layered sessions of impressions which can blend the scar tissue up to 80%. Any surgical or traumatic scars on the scalp can be treated with microneedling to resurface the area, and new impressions will match existing native follicles. Scar camouflage is a great way to reduce scars which stand out on the scalp.

Below are the average compiled questions asked during appointments for your viewing pleasure.

The average cost of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is $2000-$4000. Prices can be less or more depending on the level of hair loss.

After your Scalp Micropigmentation treatment you must avoid touching, showering, or shaving the treated area for a minimum of 4 days. Avoid carrying out any activities that may cause excessive sweating. Do not use a moisturizer, or shampoo, direct sunlight, swimming, sauna, or a steam room for 4 days. On your 5th day you should wash your head gently with cold water and baby shampoo.

During your free Scalp Consult we will go over your current hairloss and what would look the most natural for your face. We will choose the hairline and discuss the color before getting started to make sure the results are realistic.

Scalp Micropigmentation on average is not painful, however depending on your pain threshold their are certain areas of the temple which can sting due to the skin being thinner in that area. On a scale from 1-10 the average client rates the pain between 2 to 4.

Normally four sessions are necessary to give a true gradient on the scalp. If additional sessions are required a touchup may be necessary at the standard rate.

All tattoos fade over time due to your lifestyle, but most Scalp Micropigmentation lasts about 3-5 years before it begins to lighten. We however, do recommend yearly evaluations to ensure your scalp is in tact as you enter into each new year. There are many reasons a scalp can fade, so staying in contact with your technician can avoid those issues from happening. The most common reason premature fading occurs relates to shampoos or conditioners with acid ingredients, lack of sunscreen, and external environments. An SPF 50 and a moisturizer is advised to keep your scalp looking impeccable.

There is no downtime to begin your Scalp Micropigmentation journey. Normally four sessions are booked two weeks apart in order to give your skin time to heal. You can actually come in on your lunch, or after work since we are open late to complete your free consultation.

Cutting your hair truly depends on whether or not you have most of your hair. If too much is missing it is recommended to cut down to the skin in order to ensure true density can be achieved. A textured look can be achieved when you create a real gradient with several layers of impressions.

Apply moisturizer three times daily to prevent dryness and flaky skin. Unless you had a density procedure, avoid growing your hair too long. If you do not need to shave your head, we advise using an electric shaver only. We recommend a Remington HC4250, Pitbull Silver IPX5, Walh Professional Blading Clipper, or similar shaver. Please avoid wet shaving for 10 days post procedure.
